- Superior salivatory nucleus in pons - fibres run with facial nerve
- parasympathetic fibers leave CNVII as the greater superficial petrosal nerve and synapse in the sphenopalatine ganglion
Efferent - Postganglionic fibers travel with the lacrimal nerve to reach the lacrimal gland and cause reflex tearing.
