- Smoking.
- Chronic lung disease.
- Social risk factors.
- Close monitoring in the community is not possible.

1st 20 weeks: congenital varicella
30% mortality
Clinical presentation:
- segmental skin loss
- depressed and pigmented in a dermatomal distribution
- limb hypoplasia
- ocular defects:
- cataracts, chorioretinitis
- Horner syndrome
- microphthalmos
- nystagmus
- ↓ birth weight
- CNS abnormalities: seizures, microcephaly
2nd/3rd trimesters: neonatal herpes zoster
- vesicular eruptions
- complications of disseminated disaese
7 days before to 7 days after delivery
