Quadrate lobe of liver

The quadrate lobe is bounded by:

  • On the right (laterally) by the fossa for the gallbladder
  • On the left (medially) by the fossa for the umbilical vein (ligamentum teres is the remnant of the umbilical vein)
  • Anteriorly and inferiorly by the anterior margin of the liver
  • Posteriorly and superiorly by the porta hepatis
