  • Dicrotic notch = aortic valve closing although...
    • low notch → low peripheral resistance
  • Peak = systolic blood pressure
  • MAP = area under curve
    • hence it is probably intuitive to see that a spiky narrow curve = lower MAP even with the same peak i.e. systolic
