Organ donation
A person cannot become an organ donor if they have or are suspected of having1:
- Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD)
- Ebola virus disease
- Active cancer
- HIV

- Law changed to 'opt-out' for people who die who are:
- age >18
- did not opt out
- not in excluded group
what's this excluded group?
- Lack mental capacity to understand the new arrangements and take the necessary action
- Visitors to England, and those not living here voluntarily
- A person who has lived in England for less than 12 months before their death
