prostacyclin analogue
mechanism: activates GPCRs on platelets and endothelial cells → increase cAMP
effect: smooth muscle vasodilatation, inhibits platelet aggregation
uses in ICU:
- nebulised
- IV - as anticoagulation e.g. for CRRT/plasma exchange
